About Cloud Scoring

Easily manage, execute and deliver results on your golf events with Cloud Scoring
Created by: John Otterlei

Cloud Scoring started 17 years ago as a complex, macro-driven excel-based golf scoring model for a group of golfers at a southern California golf club that got together twice a week to play a Best 2 Ball 4some, Net Stableford and Giant Skins game with a $15 buy-in. With approximately 2,200 events involving roughly 33,000 rounds in our database, we have learned through trial and error how to deal with a myriad of nuances and develop a system that addresses the data and scorekeeping needs of competitive golfers. The new cloud based version of that model can be run from any PC, Mac, tablet or mobile device with an internet connection. It is designed for small to large groups of golfers that play frequently and enjoy a variety of golf games involving multiple 4-somes and 3-somes (or even 5-somes) requiring complex data analysis to reliably determine results and systematically calculate winnings, quickly and accurately.

The current menu of available games includes:

  • Best 1, 2, or 3 Ball Foursome
  • 18 point, 36 point and Modified Stableford
  • Net and Gross Skins
  • Individual 18 hole matches between every possible combination of two players in the group
  • Train
  • SWAT
  • Side Games
    • Nassau
    • Automatic 1-Downs
