It takes us more than 30 minutes after the scorecards are in to manually calculate our events.. How long does Cloud Scoring take to calculate and report the final results?
Most of the combination of games are calculated, and payouts determined, in less than a minute.
The only game that needs an extra minute or two is the one involving matches between every possible pairing. For example, there are 100 to 300 hole by hole matches to calculate in a group of 15 to 25 players.
Because the number of players showing up each time isn’t always divisible by 4, we end up with 3-somes, 4-somes and/or 5-somes. How does Cloud Scoring ensure a level playing field for team competition involving 3-somes or 5-somes?
Cloud Scoring automatically compensates the team results for events involving 3-somes and/or 5-somes. A 3-some is provided with a “wildcard” player, randomly selected from the other groups, to serve as the 3-some’s 4th player for team competition. Using a random starting point, Cloud Scoring systematically “knocks out” one of the 5-some’s scores on each hole.
Can Cloud Scoring send me the results of each event?
Each enrolled player has instant online access to a personal online dashboard, which provides players with every detail of historical scorecards, games and event results.
How does Cloud Scoring deal with ties?
The club can chose between 1) automatic breaking of ties using scorecard playoffs or 2) sharing winnings among ties
Does Cloud Scoring accommodate players competing from different tees?
Yes, Cloud Scoring follows USGA guidelines to automatically adjust handicaps.
Can Cloud Scoring accommodate variable %’s of handicap for different games?
The initial setup for each club or group involves a choice by the club of handicap %s to be used in each game – Best Ball, Net Skins, Stableford.
In individual matches, does Cloud Scoring assign strokes where they fall?
No. In a singles match, the lower handicap player is given no strokes and the higher handicap player’s course handicap is adjusted accordingly.
How much flexibility/control will Cloud Scoring give clubs in setting payouts?
Payout amounts and compression are entirely within the club’s control and are driven by the choices of the available dollar pool, number of places paid, rounding off protocols and minimum last place payment for each game.
How much will it cost to use Cloud Scoring?
At this time, we are planning a modest annual fee of $20 per subscribed player which begins after completion of a free trial period.
